Something not working, or a question the app does not answer? Write to us and a person will read it.
We aim to reply within two working days. If you are reporting a bug, telling us your iPhone model, your iOS version, and the barcode you scanned will usually get it fixed a lot faster.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, so they are cancelled through your Apple account. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, choose ProScan AI, then tap Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Because Apple handles the billing, we cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf, and refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Open Profile and tap Restore purchases. Your subscription is tied to the Apple ID that bought it, so as long as you are signed into the same Apple ID it will come back.
To stop this happening again, tap Sign in with Apple in Profile. That attaches your account to your Apple ID, and after that your scan history follows you to a new phone as well, not just your subscription.
The app creates an anonymous account on first launch, which lives on that specific device. If you deleted the app or switched phones without linking Sign in with Apple, restoring the purchase brings the subscription back but starts a fresh history, because there was no identifier connecting the old data to you.
Linking Sign in with Apple from Profile prevents this going forward. If it has already happened, email us with as much detail as you can and we will see whether the old account can be found.
Scan it, then use the report option on the result screen. That sends us the barcode and whatever you type, and it is the single most useful thing you can do to improve the app for everyone.
Product data comes from Open Food Facts and the USDA FoodData Central database. Both are large and both have gaps, particularly for regional and own brand products, so reports genuinely do get acted on.
Because the score is graded against your goal rather than against a universal standard. A bar that suits someone bulking is the wrong choice for someone cutting. Your answers during setup build a scoring profile, and protein density, sugar, saturated fat, sodium, additives, and how the protein is sourced are each weighted differently depending on it.
Treat them as a prompt, never as a clearance. They are generated from label data in public databases, which can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong about a recipe that changed last month. Always read the physical packaging before you eat something. This is why the app repeats that warning on every flag it raises.
No. ProScan AI gives general information and is not a medical device. Your protein target is a calculation from widely used formulas, not a prescription. If you have a health condition that affects what you eat, including kidney disease, diabetes, or a diagnosed allergy, talk to a qualified professional.
Open Profile and tap Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, your scan history, and any reports you sent, straight away. It cannot be undone, and we cannot recover it for you afterwards.
Deleting your data does not cancel your subscription, because Apple controls that separately. Cancel it using the steps above, otherwise it keeps renewing. Full detail on what we hold and why is in the privacy policy.
No. There is no signup screen, no password, and no email required. The app creates an anonymous account for you silently so your history has somewhere to live. Signing in with Apple is offered once after purchase and is always optional.
Check that camera access is allowed in Settings, ProScan AI, Camera. Beyond that, barcodes read best with steady hands and decent light, and a creased or curved label on a soft package is the usual culprit when a code will not resolve. If a specific barcode never works, send it to us.
